Christopher Nolan‘s known for his affinity for special effects and the use of IMAX, so it makes sense that he would apply the technology to his latest film, the upcoming space epic “Interstellar.” But Nolan is pushing the effects envelope even further this time, as teased by his visual effects supervisor.

In a series of images posted on his Twitter account — which appear to have been deleted but were re-posted on Reddit — effects supervisor Paul J. Franklin showed the crew using an IMAX camera mounted onto the nose of a Learjet to shoot aerial sequences for the film. No further details about what type of shots the crew hoped to capture or how they would play into the plot of the movie were given.

Despite the secrecy surrounding the project — which boasts a time-travel plot and a huge, eclectic cast — it’s exciting to know that at the very least, it’s going to be visually stunning. Other photos posted on Franklin’s Twitter profile from this summer show the crew using another IMAX camera mounted on a helicopter, so it looks like “Interstellar” will be packed with plenty of breathtaking aerial footage.

“Interstellar,” starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine, among many others, hits theaters November 7, 2014.
